Featuring the original works of Les Sanders of Glendive, Montana.
Les was born and raised in Minnesota. He spent his high school years in Indiana and later worked
in Montana, Michigan, Washington DC, Canada and Texas. Retiring in 2007, he and his wife Kathy moved to Glendive to start enjoying
their retirement. Les and Kathy are both accomplished artists, and once settled in Glendive they have started their own arts and
crafts business called "Artisans on Towne".
Les has a BS Degree from Moorhead State University in Moorhead, Minnesota. He started woodcarving over 30
years ago. Although largely self-taught, Les has taken a broad spectrum of carving courses, classes and seminars over the years. He often carves whimsical characters and houses and is especially talented at carving split cedar flutes.
He is an active member of the Dawson County Arts Unlimited Gallery in Glendive, and is also affiliated with the Mid-America Woodcarvers and Western & Wildlife Carving Association.
