Featuring the original works of Gertrude Jacobs of Beach, North Dakota.
Gertrude was born and raised in Elgin, North Dakota. She attended high school in
Elgin and then pursued a career as a Registered Nurse for over 38 years at the Bismarck Hospital in Bismarck,
North Dakota.
Gertrude was active in the arts since childhood. She recalls drawing everything she
could as a child, and started painting in 1977. She was most influenced by an art teacher from Bismarck, Rosemary
Landsboyer, and by Montana artist Bob Watts. Her preferred medium is oil, but she has worked extensively in
acrylic and watercolor. She prefers painting nature scenes, including flowers, landscapes and portraits.
