Featuring the original works of Deborah Brown of Miles City, Montana.
Deb is a native of eastern Montana, having been born and raised in Miles City, Montana.
She graduated from Black Hills State University with a degree in Education with a major in Art and minor in
American Indian History. She continued her formal education by enrolling in art classes offered by Western State College
in Dillon, Montana. From 1980 to 2006 she taught elementary art in public schools in Miles City.
During her college years Deb worked mostly in watercolor, inspired by her instructor
Dick Dubois. She later moved on to working with oil and acrylic, but has also worked with pen and ink, mixed media,
sculpting in clay, weaving, jewelry design
and basket making. She has since found a preference for working in pastel. Her favorite subjects include old
buildings and homesteads, landscapes and wildlife.
Deb is affiliated with a number of art institutions, including Dawson County Arts
Unlimited in Glendive and the Custer County Arts Center in Miles City where she has participated in numerous shows
and displays.
